Dr. Mark Sherwood is a 2022 republican gubernatorial candidate in Oklahoma. He sees all too clearly the aggressive communist agenda that is sweeping the nation and making its way to Oklahoma. He is not naive enough to believe that Oklahoma will be exempt from the marxists strategy to destroy families, silence the church, and push for a totalitarian regime. Dr. Mark Sherwood is about LEADERSHIP and NOT POLITICS. He believes in Oklahoma first policies that create a climate of liberty and growth and a secure and self-sustaining state that is not cripplingly dependent on an ever more oppressive and bloated federal government. Oklahoma needs a leader who is willing to face controversy head on, not one that will take the path of least resistance, avoiding the big, pivotal issues of the day.
  • We as Oklahomans are under attack by an out of control federal government ran by an illegitimate president.
  • We currently have a governor who is incompetent or unwilling to address these pressing issues in Oklahoma.
  • I am running to challenge and replace Governor Stitt in order to fight for, secure and defend the God-given rights of every Oklahoman and to establish proper Government which exist to serve the people and not the other way around.
To see what areas of public policy I'm passionate about check out my Oklahoma and America first platform on my website: www.sherwood2022.com/issues
The way Jesus lived his life on earth is how I model mine. He is my source and my strength. There is no one higher.
I have had immense life experience having traveled to every continent except for one. The diversity of my career is from police work to sales to being a physician have uniquely prepared me for such a time as this
Communication with the citizens, being visible and vocal, and being involved in the community.
I will be the most God-fearing, constitution protecting, and people loving/respecting governor of the state has ever had
Positive - being the first college graduate in my family - 1987
Negative - dealing with the suicide of my mother in 2002.
I mowed lawns as a young man as well as working part time in a refinery where my father was employed. I did this throughout my high school years
The Bible - basic instructions before leaving earth
Having the top authority in the state means having the greatest responsibility to serve the legal and law-abiding citizens of Oklahoma and keeping my oath to defend the Constitution.
I would veto any and every piece of legislation that directly contradicts the Word of God and the US Constitution. Wisdom must be essential before increasing taxes. We must audit budgets, identify wasteful spending, and use only what is needed.
Oklahoma does have this power. I support it as it allows us to have equal representation and proper checks and balances.
The ideal relationship is based on close proximity, communication, trust, and a mutual desire to see Oklahoma as the freest state in the Union.
Unquestionably, it is the diversity of the people, the Native American population, and the God-fearing morality.
In no particular order of preference: federal overreach, lack of strength on 10th amendment stances, abortions on demand must cease, relationships with Native American populations must be repaired, energy production must return to the state, no form of CRT must occur in the schools, and mandates for vaccines or masks must never return
These powers should be reserved for obvious states of emergencies such as natural disasters, terrorist attacks, and even power outages.
