I graduated from Brigham Young University with a BA in English and an MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have taught English to international students at BYU and abroad. I have been involved in a variety of community issues, including voter registration and voter education, and advocating for measures to improve Utah's air quality.
  • We need a more responsive government in our state and legislators who respond to their constituents. I aim to be a legislator who listens.
  • Together, we can address our state's most difficult problems. Increased participation and more voices in the political conversation will help us get to solutions.
  • In me, voters will have a representative who believes the purpose of government is to serve.
Education is the basis of Utah's future. It is the way we will prepare for rapid changes worldwide. Our schools and teachers must be adequately funded.

The quality of our air and water are essential for our health and quality of life, and that of future generations. We can care for the environment while having growth in our economy, but innovative solutions will be required.

I will advocate for greater transparency in government and government reforms, including the expansion of ranked choice voting, campaign finance reform, and term limits.
I believe a legislator's core responsibilities are to represent the people, while also being aware of the future and wide-ranging implications of decisions as much as possible.
I believe familiarity with the legislative process is important, but I also believe that a variety of experiences, backgrounds, and areas of expertise are helpful in creating good policy for the good of the population.
It's essential to have strong relationships with other legislators because collaboration and compromise are how legislative work gets done. While we may not always agree, we must be committed to a professional working relationship.
I would be interested in being part of the House Education Committee, the House Natural Resources, Agriculture, and Environment Committee, or the House Ethics Committee.
