The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 26, 2015.[2] Mark Levine defeated Clarence Tong, Julie Jakopic, Craig Fifer and Larry Altenburg in the Democratic primary. Levine was unchallenged in the general election.[3][4]
