D. Shelly Yarbrough is an at-large member of the nonpartisan Val Verde Board of Education in California. Her seat was up for general election on November 4, 2014. D. Shelly Yarbrough won the general election on November 4, 2014. Yarbrough was first elected to the board in 2000.[1]

She was also a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 61 of the California State Assembly. She lost in the primary election on June 3, 2014.

Funding

Candidates had to file contribution reports within 24 hours of receiving an aggregate total of $1,000 or more from a single source. The first scheduled pre-election report filing deadline was October 6, 2014. If candidates raised or spent less than $1,000 during the 2013 and 2014 calendar years, they had to file Form 470 at that time. If candidates raised or spent more during that time, they had to file Form 460 by the pre-election report filing deadline.[2]

Candidates required to file Form 460 also had to file a second pre-election report on October 23, 2014, and they had to file termination reports by December 31, 2014. If a termination report was not filed, candidates had to file a semi-annual report by February 2, 2015.[2]

Yarbrough did not report any contributions or expenditures during the election, according to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters.[3]

Endorsements

Yarbrough did not receive any official endorsements during the election.

Elections for the California State Assembly took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 3, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 7, 2014. Incumbent Jose Medina (D) and Rudy Aranda (R) defeated D. Shelly Yarbrough (D) in the blanket primary. Medina defeated Aranda in the general election.[4][5][6]
