- Illinois is taxed too much. We have the highest property taxes in the nation. We have the second highest gas taxes in the country. Illinois has the most units of local government in the US. We must reduce taxes and the only way we can do that is to lower the cost of government. It is not the state's money. It belongs to the people and we need to respect taxpayers in our state. We need to focus on eliminating fraud and waste and duplicative state programs. Our focus needs to be on results - not what is good for the politically connected insiders.
- Illinois has more than 282,000 business regulations. This is about 180,000 more than neighboring Indiana. It costs us nothing to reduce regulations. In fact, reducing regulations could save money in reduced compliance costs for the state. Reducing regulations will also help us recruit more business and jobs to our state.
- Illinois needs to do a better job of protecting the weakest among us. We need to repeal the Physician Assisted Suicide Law and end state funding of abortion. A society that cheapens the value of human life is a society committed to its own destruction.
