With four children, a business in the southern Illinois area and an almost ten year career in law enforcement, Johnnie Smith and his wife Wendy believe in a strong community approach to creating a better tomorrow.
Johnnie Smith and his family believe that the better a community does, the better the businesses in that community do. Which is why his family is all about being involved, giving back and leading by example. In his tenure as a township board member, he's made sure to be an active member in the community so that he could better represent the people who elected him. He's brought common sense and a family voice to the table. In his four years as an AFSME executive board member for local 943 - he worked hard to uphold the contracts and negotiate for what his coworkers expressed need for. He is a staunch supporter of Second Amendment rights, he previously held his federal firearm license as a manufacturer of firearms and has been cleared by the FBI and ITAR.- I want to bring responsibility to government spending, hold the state accountable, reduce waste in government.
- I proudly support small businesses and GROWTH in Illinois.
- A strong approach to a better tomorrow that includes protecting our Second Amendment.
I stand behind our Second Amendment.
My wife and I now have four kids and I am running for this office to make a better community for them and for all Illinoisans.
Strong leadership qualities are INCREDIBLY important.
Two years can be hard to get much done. It seems that people struggle to have an impact their first year and while four year terms may help you have even more opportunities to make an impact, that just have to make an impression so that you can deserve to be re-elected. You have to get as much done in your term as you can to serve the people who elected you.
