I'm a native Utahn, retired Sergeant First Class in the U.S. Army Reserve, and member of the United Utah Party. I live in Iron County, which is the most beautiful county in the state of Utah. I'm running for the Utah State Legislature from District 72 because partisan politics has become a critical problem for us in Utah, as our elected representatives have been listening to their party leaders more than to their constituents. I'm running for all those who feel they don't have a voice anymore in Utah politics, who feel left out because of the divisiveness and polarizing ideology of the two major parties in this state. I'm running with the United Utah Party to help heal that divide. I offer the people of Iron county a choice. I offer you true Utah leadership that doesn't depend on party purity. Join me in this fight to get our voices back. Together we can build a stronger and more United Utah.
  • I support better education funding to solve Utah's unique challenges such as teacher shortages and high class sizes.
  • I support efforts that increase transparency in government so that backdoor deals don't waste millions of our dollars.
  • I support reforms that put the real power and influence back into your hands where it belongs.
I am an independent-minded candidate who supports practical, common-sense legislation that doesn't require multiple citizen referendum and initiative efforts to fix. I'm interested in bringing together moderates who don't feel at home in either of the two major political parties because of those parties' divisiveness and polarizing ideology. I'm interested in reaching across all parties to bring us together in a spirit of unity and collaboration to find better solutions to the problems facing Utah, like education funding, government transparency, and campaign reform issues.
It's not just beneficial; it's essential that legislators build relationships with each other. As a candidate with the United Utah Party, I'm in a unique situation to do that better than either of my opponents. I can be open to every good idea, no matter whose it is, because I don't have to follow strict party rules about how I legislate and with whom I collaborate. I don't have to play the partisan games that both Republicans and Democrats must.
I support an independent redistricting commission so that we get to vote for our leaders instead of party leaders choosing that for us through unfair boundary creation. Utahns voted in support of an independent redistricting commission in 2018 because we knew the legislature wasn't interested in relinquishing that power on their own. In the 2020 legislative session, our current representatives ignored us again by giving us a watered-down commission stripped of any authority or independence. They chose smoke and mirrors over any substantive change that would help voters get their voices heard.
