Ron is a classical musician, a licensed amateur radio operator, and a business owner. He has earned a bachelors degree in Sacred music, and a masters degree in Counseling. He serves as an associate pastor of his church, and sees the deeper needs in the community that the government cannot meet. Ron has a varied work experience in construction, and property maintenance and management. He understands the needs of tenants and always worked to resolve issues fairly.
Ron has experience in a public works department which gave him an understanding of how agencies should operate. He knows that government employees must always remember that they work for taxpayers.
As a business owner Ron will work to remove the burdensome regulations California has imposed that are required to start and maintain a business.
Californians are leaving the state because of high taxes and the high cost of living. Ron understands that the government must stop interfering with the Liberty that made California golden.
Ron Sondergaard is running for the California Assembly because he wants this state to be the Golden State again.- Restore Liberty - allow freedom to work a job that makes sense, acknowledge and defend parental rights, respect the will of California voters
- Return to Fiscal Sanity - start cutting taxes that make living here unaffordable, end irresponsible spending, eliminate job destroying regulations
- Reestablish Safety - Stop releasing violent criminals into our communities, respect the process of legal immigration, allow Californians to protect themselves
Our ever increasing taxes (property, sales, income) make living in California and owning a home quite impossible for many who have lived here their entire lives.
What is the straw that's breaking the backs of Californians? The highest gas taxes and worst roads, highest vehicle registration fees. building permit fees, erosion of the rights of parents regarding the education and health of their children, the state enabling the homeless addicted, the state claiming it can solve the homeless crisis best - then failing, unconstitutional laws that prohibit Californians from protecting their loved ones, the legislature or courts thumbing their nose at the California voters, the Democrat legislature destroying the livelihoods of tens of thousands of Californians who want and need flexible jobs that make sense for them.
Washington's farewell address
Truthfulness in everything said or written
California should return to state senate districts much like the 1951 map following current county lines. We could also follow the pattern of the US Senate where each county could elect one state senator. That way, more direct voter involvement and representation could be achieved.
