2016

Gallogly's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

Jobs and the Economy: I believe we need to stand for the following.

  • Encourage local, homegrown businesses
  • Attract in and out of state commerce to the district
  • Provide business training and counseling opportunities to local entrepreneurs
  • Push for a tax philosophy that focuses more on taxing consumption over production
  • Help entrepreneurs secure low-interest loans for capital improvements

Education:

  • I believe access to a strong education is a fundamental right of all of the citizens in Michigan. I will fight to improve the quality of education, and access to higher education for our district. I believe that a more efficient funding structure is needed for our schools. We must find ways to cut the wasteful spending, and put more money back into the classroom. We must improve our methods for evaluating teachers and schools in general. I will fight for better higher education options in the district. Currently Allegan County residents do not even have access to local community college options. Our state grows and succeeds only when our state gains in education. Join me in putting our students around the state at the front of the line of priorities!

Pro-Life:

  • I'm proud to say I was raised in a home where I was taught that sanctity of life was to be viewed as the most prized gift we are given. I'm a proud supporter of the pro-life movement, and will stand for all lives no matter how big or small. I'm honored to say that I've been endorsed by Right to Life of Michigan, and I'm grateful they believe in my candidacy.

Belief in the Constitution:

  • As a social studies teacher, I've have made a career out of teaching our next generation about the role of government, it's design, it's function, and the purpose behind the constitution. With all of the ideas that make their way to Lansing, I feel that we often lose sight of this perspective. I want to be the voice of responsible leadership, that honors the commitment our fore fathers set up for us.

Medical:

  • I believe our current structure of continual licence updates needs a change. The increase in steps and frequency of license updates have begun to take away from the effectiveness of medical professionals. As frequency of updates has increased so has the bureaucracy that surrounds it. This increase has had a negative effect on the time practicing professionals can offer to their patients and their families. I support a more streamlined approach that better allows our highly trained doctors, and nurses etc. to focus on patient care.[5]
