Holmes ran in the 2011 election for Mississippi House of Representatives District 33. He ran unopposed in the primary on August 2, 2011. Holmes faced incumbent Thomas Reynolds, II (D) and Jerrerico Chambers (R) in the November 8 general election. Reynolds defeated Holmes and Chambers in the general election.[1]
