Dwight Dudley
Dwight Dudley is a former Democratic member of the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 68 from 2012 to 2016.
Dudley did not seek re-election to the Florida House of Representatives in 2016. Instead, he ran for and won election to the Group 9 seat of the Pinellas County Court in the primary election on August 30, 2016.
Biography
Dudley earned his B.S. in Communications and his J.D. from Florida State University in 1980 and 1987, respectively.[1]

Elections
2016
Thirty-nine of Florida's 67 county courts had seats up for election in 2016. Of the 101 seats up for election, 68 saw only one candidate file for the election. The unopposed races were canceled and the sole candidates were automatically elected. Of the 33 opposed races, only 15 saw more than two candidates file. Candidates who received a majority of votes cast in the primary election on August 30, 2016, won the race and did not advance to the general election. Races where no candidate receives 50 percent plus one of the votes cast required a general election on November 8, 2016, between the top two primary vote recipients. Incumbent Myriam Irizarry defeated Dwight Dudley in the Group 9 primary election for the Pinellas County Court.[2]

2014
Elections for the Florida House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on August 26, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Incumbent Dwight Dudley was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Bill Young defeated Joshua Black in the Republican primary. Dudley defeated Young in the general election.[3][4]

Dudley won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 68. Dudley ran unopposed in the Democratic primary on August 14, 2012, and defeated Frank Karkas (R) and Matthew D. Weidner (I) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[5]
