  • Yvette will fight against burdensome regulations that are making homeownership unaffordable for Floridians and work to curb rising insurance prices so that our families, seniors, and veterans can afford to live in Florida.
  • Yvette will work to empower our brave men and women in uniform so they can enforce our immigration laws, stop the flow of illegal drugs, and keep our communities safe.
  • Yvette will fight against burdensome regulations that hinder businesses, promoting economic growth, job creation, and thriving communities.
I look up to individuals who exemplify integrity, dedication, and a commitment to serving others like Congressman Byron Donalds and State Representative Lauren Melo, whose approach to public service—marked by thoughtful advocacy, strong community engagement, and principled leadership—serve as a model for how to effectively represent and address the needs of constituents. Their dedication to practical solutions and their commitment to conservative values inspire me and align with my own vision of serving with honesty and a focus on meaningful change.
"A Time for Choosing" by Ronald Reagan. This influential speech, delivered in 1964, articulates key conservative values and arguments for limited government and individual liberty.
I believe the most valuable characteristics are integrity, passion, dedication, transparency, and a servant heart. Integrity ensures honesty and strong moral principles, which are essential for earning trust and making ethical decisions. Passion drives a deep commitment to meaningful work and positive change. Dedication reflects a strong commitment to serving constituents and achieving goals. Transparency fosters openness and accountability in all actions and decisions. A servant heart focuses on putting the needs of others first, ensuring that service to the community remains the primary goal. These qualities are crucial for effectively representing and advocating for the needs of our community.
I possess qualities that would make me a successful officeholder, including integrity, dedication, passion, transparency, and a servant heart. Integrity ensures honesty and ethical decision-making, while dedication drives a strong commitment to addressing community needs. Passion for key issues fuels effective advocacy and action, and transparency fosters openness and trust. A servant heart prioritizes the well-being of others, ensuring that service to the community remains central. Together, these qualities, along with my background and experiences, prepare me to effectively represent and serve my constituents
I believe an elected official’s core responsibilities include representing constituents by addressing their concerns and needs, crafting and voting on legislation to improve community life, and ensuring government accountability through oversight. They must assist constituents with government services, uphold ethical standards with integrity and transparency, engage with the community, advocate for beneficial policies, and manage public resources responsibly. These duties ensure effective service and representation while maintaining the efficiency and ethical operation of government.
I would like to leave a legacy of positive, impactful change through dedicated public service and principled leadership. My goal is to create a stronger, more vibrant community by advocating for policies that enhance economic opportunities, protect individual freedoms, and ensure a high quality of life for all residents. I hope to be remembered for my commitment to transparency, integrity, and responsiveness, as well as for fostering a culture of collaboration and trust. Ultimately, I aim to leave behind a legacy of meaningful progress and a lasting positive impact on the lives of the people I serve.
One of the first historical events I remember is the Gulf War, particularly Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm. Serving in the Air Force during this time, I witnessed firsthand the greatness of America and its commitment to defending freedom and democracy. The resolve and unity displayed by our nation during this conflict were inspiring, reflecting the strength and determination that define America’s role on the global stage. This experience deepened my appreciation for our country’s values and the importance of standing strong in the face of challenges.
I was 16 years old and I worked at a McDonalds
One of my favorite books is "The Road to Serfdom" by Friedrich Hayek. I appreciate it for its profound analysis of the dangers of central planning and the importance of preserving individual freedoms and free markets. Hayek's arguments are compelling and provide a clear perspective on how economic and political freedoms are interconnected. The book has been influential in shaping my understanding of the role of government and the value of personal liberty.
If I could be any fictional character, I’d choose Atticus Finch from "To Kill a Mockingbird." His commitment to justice, integrity, and moral courage in the face of prejudice and adversity is truly inspiring. Atticus embodies the qualities of empathy and principled leadership, making him a powerful role model for navigating complex moral and ethical challenges.
One of the struggles I have faced is balancing the demands of running a successful business with the responsibilities of community service and family life. Juggling these roles requires significant time management and resilience, but it has also taught me valuable lessons in perseverance, prioritization, and maintaining a strong work ethic. These experiences have strengthened my ability to handle challenges effectively and remain focused on my goals, which I believe will serve me well in public service
The ideal relationship between the governor and the state legislature is one of constructive collaboration and mutual respect. The governor should provide clear leadership and propose policies, while the legislature should engage in thorough debate and oversight, ensuring that laws and budgets reflect the needs and priorities of the state. Effective communication, shared goals, and a commitment to the public interest are essential for achieving productive outcomes and maintaining a balanced and accountable government.
Florida’s greatest challenges over the next decade include managing rapid population growth while respecting property rights, addressing environmental issues through practical, market-driven solutions, and promoting economic diversification with a focus on free-market principles. Homeowners insurance is a critical concern, requiring reforms that encourage competition and reduce the burden of high premiums. Ensuring access to affordable healthcare and education should involve reducing government intervention and increasing choice. Additionally, enhancing public safety involves supporting law enforcement and upholding constitutional rights while effectively addressing crime. Tackling these challenges with a commitment to constitutional principles and limited government can help ensure a prosperous and free society.
While previous experience in government or politics can be beneficial, life experiences often provide equally valuable insights. Building a business and signing both the front and back of a paycheck offer practical understanding of economic and financial realities. This hands-on experience can make it easier to relate to everyday issues and effectively address real-world challenges. Running as an outsider with such background can provide a fresh perspective compared to traditional political experience.
Yes, building relationships with other legislators is highly beneficial. It fosters collaboration and facilitates the exchange of ideas, which can lead to more effective and comprehensive legislation. Strong relationships can help in gaining support for initiatives, navigating complex legislative processes, and addressing constituent concerns more efficiently. By working together, legislators can pool their expertise and resources, leading to more informed decision-making and better outcomes for the community.
Yes, Florida State Representative Lauren Melo is a legislator whom I admire and wish to model myself after. Her dedication to serving her community, effective advocacy for key issues, and commitment to thoughtful and pragmatic solutions are qualities I aspire to emulate in my own public service.
Not at this time. My current focus is on serving as a state legislator, where I believe I can make the most impact in addressing local issues and advocating for my community.
One particularly touching and impactful story I've heard involves the struggles of families, seniors, and veterans who are being priced out of their communities due to rising costs of living and affordability issues. These personal experiences underscore the need for solutions grounded in reducing government overreach, promoting free-market solutions, and encouraging economic growth. Addressing these challenges through policies that support affordability and provide relief for those struggling is a key priority in ensuring that all residents can continue to thrive in their communities.
"How many politicians does it take to change a light bulb? None. They’ll promise to do it, but it’ll never happen."
I believe the legislature should play a critical role in overseeing and granting the use of emergency powers. While it's important for the executive branch to have the flexibility to respond quickly in emergencies, legislative oversight ensures that such powers are used appropriately and within constitutional limits. This oversight helps maintain a balance of power, prevents potential abuse, and ensures that emergency measures are subject to review and accountability by elected representatives. Such a system upholds the principles of checks and balances and protects individual liberties while allowing for effective governance during crises.
If elected, the first bill I would introduce would be guided by the priorities and needs of my constituents. It's essential that legislation reflects the concerns and interests of the people I represent.
Congressman Byron Donalds, Congressman Cory Mills, Congressman Michael Waltz, Congressman Brian Mast, Congressman Mario Diaz Balart, State Senator Jonathan Martin, State Representative Berny Jacques, State Representative Michelle Salzman, State Representative David Borrero, State Representative Alex Rizo, Americans for Prosperity, Moms for America, Veterans for America First, Florida Fraternal Order of Police, Florida Police Benevolent Association, Republican National Hispanic Assembly of Florida, Republican Liberty Caucus, Florida Pest Management Association, Florida Realtors, Born to Ride for 45, and UFC Champion Tito Ortiz.
Commerce, Education, Infastructure Strategies
Financial transparency and government accountability are essential for maintaining public trust and effective governance. Financial transparency ensures clear reporting of government budgets and expenditures, preventing misuse of taxpayer funds and allowing public scrutiny. Government accountability requires that officials and agencies are responsible for their actions, adhere to ethical standards, and address any misconduct or inefficiency. Together, these principles foster integrity, informed civic engagement, and responsible management of public resources.
I support the principles of a transparent and accountable ballot initiative process. Any changes to the current state ballot initiative process should aim to enhance transparency, prevent abuse, and ensure that initiatives truly reflect the will of the people. This might include measures to increase the requirements for gathering signatures, improve verification processes, and provide greater scrutiny of proposed initiatives. It's important to balance the need for a robust democratic process with safeguards that maintain the integrity and effectiveness of the ballot initiative system.

Scorecards

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
