Teresa C. Kulik was a judge for the Washington Court of Appeals, Division III. She was appointed to this position by Governor Chris Gregoire on January 17, 2006, took office approximately one month later, and was elected the following November.[1][2] She was re-elected in 2012. She retired from the court on February 28, 2014.[3]

Education

Kulik received her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington in 1974 and her law degree from Gonzaga University School of Law in 1977.[4]

Career

Kulik began her legal career as a staff attorney for Evergreen Legal Services. In 1981, she was appointed to the Washington Attorney General's Office and she established the Yakima Attorney General's Office. She was promoted division chief in 1988 and managed seven regional offices until 1996, when she moved to the Wenatchee Attorney General's Office. At the time of her appointment to the Washington Court of Appeals in 2006, Kulik was a senior assistant attorney general and section Cchief. Throughout her career as attorney general, she also served as legal counsel to various state agencies and colleges.[1][4]

2012 election

Kulik defeated Devin Poulson in the primary election on August 7th, winning 58.81% of the vote, and was re-elected to the Washington Court of Appeals after running unopposed in the general election.[5][6][7]
