William W. Francis Jr. was a judge of the Missouri Court of Appeals Southern District. He assumed office on April 16, 2010. He left office on July 31, 2022.

Francis was appointed to the court by Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon on April 16, 2010, to succeed the retired Judge John E. Parrish.[1] Francis retired on July 31, 2022.[2]

Education

Francis received his undergraduate degree from Southwest Missouri State University (now Missouri State University) in 1974 and his J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law in 1977.[1]

Career

Prior to joining the Missouri Court of Appeals, Francis spent more than 32 years in private practice in Springfield, MO. He was with the law firm of Placzek & Francis from 1990 until his judicial appointment in 2010.[1]

Elections

Francis was retained with 72.6% of the vote in the general election on November 6th.[3]
