Robert Gross
Robert Gross is a judge of the Florida 4th District Court of Appeal. He assumed office in 1995. His current term ends on January 2, 2029.
Gross ran for re-election for judge of the Florida 4th District Court of Appeal. He won in the retention election on November 8, 2022.
He was appointed by Democratic Governor Lawton Chiles in 1995 and was retained by voters in 1998, 2004, 2010, 2016, and 2022.[1][2]
Gross served as chief judge from December 1, 2008 to June 30, 2011.[3]
Education
Gross earned his B.A. from Williams College in 1973 and received his J.D. from Cornell University in 1976.[3]
Career
Gross began his legal career in 1976 as an assistant district attorney in New York. A year later, he became an assistant state attorney in Palm Beach County, Florida. He entered private practice in 1981, joining the law firm Moyle, Jones and Flanigan, P.A. In 1984, he was appointed to a County Court and eventually became the administrative judge of that court. In 1991, he was elevated to the Florida Circuit Court. He held this position until his appointment to the court of appeal in 1995.[3]
