I still look up to the people who positively impacted my life such as retired high school principal Carl Ridell, retired Director of Federal Bureau of Prisons Harley G. Lappin, and of course, my parents who continue to mentor me. They taught me the importance of working hard, playing fairly, and giving back to the community.
I have been committed to serve the public throughout my lifetime. I have been a public high school teacher, supervisory federal law enforcement officer, and served on public boards such as school board and Redevelopment Commission. I want to continue serving the public.
Serve the public who placed them in office and remain responsive to them. The office holder works for the people.
Leave it better than you found it.
Many significant events have happened in my lifetime. The fall of the Berlin Wall occurred when I was 22 and 9/11 occurred when I was 34. During the event of 9/11 I was working at the federal prison watching it unfold while supervising inmates.
Terre Haute Park & Recreation lifeguard and Pool Manager- Summers 1982-1989. In 1989, I promoted to full time Assistant Director of Recreation.
I believe it is beneficial to have previous experience in government or politics, but not required.
I believe the ideal relationship between the governor and state legislature is one based on mutual respect and a willingness to work together to improve the lives of Hoosiers.
It is absolutely beneficial to build strong professional relationships with legislators of both parties to pass legislation that benefits Hoosiers.
Education as a current school board member and former public high school teacher, Ways and Means,Public Safety as a retired federal law enforcement officer and Public Health.
I am interested in serving the public in any office the voters have confidence in placing me.
