Economic Inequality. If Democrats win the next cycle and do nothing with that power, the pendulum will swing to the other extreme. If the Republicans elect a competent young Fascist, then there will be no return.

I wonder if a longer term would allow for better governance. However, I can't answer hypotheticals.

Necessary. Far too many old heads in Congress. They lose touch with normal people in their bubbles.

No. Democrats have "compromised" for 40 years. Those compromises have gotten us to this miserable point in politics.

What role should the United States government have in the development or use of artificial intelligence?

The U.S should play a large role. In fact, many of the major milestones should be a result of U.S intervention. If companies control such a powerful tool, what do you think would happen? If a company ends up being more powerful than a Nation, why would that company listen to the Nation?
