Diane Henson was a 2014 candidate for the Third District Court of Appeals in Texas, seeking to become chief justice.[1]

Henson was previously a judge on the court. She was elected on November 7, 2006 and her term ended on December 31, 2012 upon her defeat in that year's election.[2][3]

General: She was defeated in the general election on November 4, 2014, after receiving 45.9 percent of the vote. She competed against Jeff L. Rose. [1][4]

Education

Justice Henson received her law degree from Drake University Law School in 1979.[8]

Career

Following law school, Justice Henson was selected for an honors program at the U.S. Department of Justice, where she worked as a federal prosecutor in the Criminal Division's Public Integrity Section. In 1983, she joined the law firm Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody. She became a partner in 1986, and in 1995, she founded her own firm. She worked as an attorney until 2006, when she was elected to the court of appeals.[8]
