La Rosa (Republican Party) ran for re-election to the Florida House of Representatives to represent District 42. La Rosa won in the general election on November 6, 2018.
La Rosa previously served in the Florida House of Representatives, representing District 42 from 2012 to 2020.
Biography
La Rosa earned his B.A. in interpersonal communications with a minor in political science from the University of Central Florida. His professional experience includes founding La Rosa Development and La Rosa Realty with his brother, Joseph.[1]

Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) appointed La Rosa on August 21, 2020, to replace Donald Polmann. He took office on January 2, 2021.[2]

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 20, 2014. Chad Carnell defeated Pete Placencia and Zulma Velez-Estrada in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Mike La Rosa was unopposed in the Republican primary. La Rosa defeated Carnell in the general election.[7][8]

La Rosa won election in the 2012 election for Florida House of Representatives District 42. He was named as the replacement Republican nominee after incumbent Mike Horner withdrew from the race following the primary election.[9] La Rosa defeated Eileen Game (D) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[10]
