The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was March 20, 2014. Susan Marques Booth was unopposed in the Democratic convention. Incumbent Steven Eliason was unopposed in the Republican convention. Eliason defeated Booth in the general election. Wendy S. Davis (D) withdrew before the primary.[1]
