A proud graduate of Altamont School, Alan went on to attend Auburn University, where he sharpened his analytical skills and developed a passion for public accountability. He later pursued graduate studies at UNC Chapel Hill, further deepening his understanding of policy, governance, and the systems that shape people’s everyday lives. His education opened doors—but his heart and commitment always stayed in Alabama.
For years, Alan has dedicated himself to exposing corruption, defending individual rights, and demanding transparency from those in power. Through investigative journalism and policy research, he has worked relentlessly to shine light where others preferred darkness—holding institutions accountable and giving everyday Alabamians a voice. His work has directly supported and advised current members of the Alabama Legislature, helping craft policy grounded in facts, fairness, and the real needs of working families.
Alan believes Alabama’s future can be freer, more prosperous, and healthier—but only if leaders are willing to tell the truth, challenge entrenched interests, and put people first. He’s not running to climb a political ladder; he’s running to do the work.- I believe in Individual Rights. Without the basic Rights to Speak, Associate, Worship, Bear Arms, and Be Secure in our Persons and Effects, all else fails. With these Rights, we are able to stand up and enact wise policies for the future of our State. As your Representative for District 50, I will Dare to Defend those Rights, for you, and for all of us. I didn't grow up reciting the Pledge of Allegiance, and affirming "Indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for ALL" to accept or settle for anything less.
- As representative for Springville, Argo, Margaret, Odenville, Moody, and Cook Springs, it will be my primary mission to support the health and wellness of the entire district. In order to achieve that, I will work with others in the region to ensure that road work and train traffic don't continue to impede the free movement of We The People of District 50. I will work to ensure we have common sense policies that uphold Rights, and pave the way for businesses and communities to thrive.
- For too long, party affiliations have divided us. INDIVISIBLE, with Liberty and Justice for ALL means just that, that we are united, inseparable, and here for each other. I am running as a Democrat, but I believe in fiscal responsibility. I am a father and husband, and believe in strong family values. I believe that those on the left and the right share those values, and party lines cannot divide that which we as Americans, Alabamians, and Neighbors, hold in common.
