Miller was a member of the Cleveland City Council in Ohio. He assumed office in 2009. He left office in 2013.

The city of Cleveland, Ohio, held elections on November 7, 2017. A primary election occurred on September 12, 2017. The mayor and all 17 seats on the city council were up for election. The filing deadline for candidates who wished to run in this election was June 29, 2017.[2]

Anthony Hairston defeated Eugene Miller in the general election for Ward 10 of the Cleveland City Council.[3]

Elections for the Ohio House of Representatives took place in 2014. A primary election took place on May 6, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 5, 2014. Incumbent Bill Patmon defeated Eugene Miller in the Democratic primary. Edward Hudson-Bey (I) withdrew from the race before the primary. Robert M. Kilo, Danielle Shepherd and Miesha Strickland ran as Independent candidates. Patmon defeated Kilo, Shepherd and Strickland in the general election.[5]
