Natali Fani-Gonzalez was a 2014 Democratic candidate for District 18 of the Maryland House of Delegates.

Natali Fani-Gonzalez is a human and civil rights activist and entrepreneur.

Fani-Gonzalez's professional achievements showcase a record of advocating for progressive issues, particularly on economic justice, immigration reform and access to quality health care for all. She started her career as lobbyist for CASA de Maryland, the largest Latino and immigrant organization in the state, and then joined the communications team of the Service Employee International Union Local 32BJ. Subsequently, in 2008, Natali founded a dynamic public relations firm based in Rockville, Maryland, named Matea Group. The firm's clients have included Amnesty International USA, MomsRising.org, Montgomery County Latino Health Initiative, Presente.org, Reform Immigration for America, SEIU and Virginia Consumer Voices for Healthcare.

Fani-Gonzalez's community activism has allowed her to speak on civil rights and economic justice in occasions such as the 40th Anniversary of the March on Washington and the National Conference for the American Association of University Women.

Fani-Gonzalez earned a bachelor's degree in political science and International Relations from Goucher College. She was born in Venezuela and arrived to Maryland at the age of 16. She lives with her husband, a former U.S. Marine and Electrical Engineer, and their two children in Kensington, Maryland.[1]

Elections for the Maryland House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Incumbents Al Carr, Ana Sol Gutierrez and Jeff Waldstreicher defeated Natali Fani-Gonzalez, Rick Kessler, Elizabeth Matory and Emily Shetty in the Democratic primary and were unopposed in the general election.[2][3][4]
