I am a Father,Grandfather,Brother, Uncle and Husband of 37 years to the greatest bride a man can have. I am running to give our teachers back the respect they deserve. To clean up the dirtiest water in the country and to help all Hoosiers enjoy having a roof over there heads. All of this from a working calls point of view and with a bi- partisan attitude.
  • Without qualified and respected educators in Indiana we will not have a qualified and respected work force
  • 2/3 of our water ways in Indiana are unfit for recreational use. We can do better.
  • Having a roof over your head is a "human right" and we need to make sure everyone can achieve that.
Our public schools and educators are under attack in Indiana . Soon our children may have to travel an hour one way just to get to a school we are already 3000 teachers short. We need to stop this attack and get out of the classrooms and give them the respect they deserve. No other job would tolerate the type of abuse our educators have endured . Not to mention some of the lowest pay in the country. I will be working hard to stop the brain drain and save our schools

I am a Hoosier. I was born and raised here in our great state. I have always been in the people business, starting with my first job as a paperboy for the old Indianapolis evening news and continuing through the years in customer-facing positions. I have been a business owner and a Cub Scout pack leader. I have always been one to speak his mind and stand up for what I feel is right. I am a leader, collaborator, and problem solver. Once I take on a task, I will do whatever is needed to get the job done. I am on organization boards and volunteer my time for many good causes.

My wife Sunday and I have been married for over 30 years and have lived in Boone County since 1985 when we moved back to her family homestead to raise our two boys, making them fifth generation on the same land. Both of my sons, as well as my wife, graduated from Zionsville High School. I graduated from Pike High School and became certified as an EMT and worked for the Zionsville ambulance service. I also achieved a certification in Project Management from IUPUI that moved me into the career I have today. I am a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and son, but most of all, I am a person looking to make a difference in any way I can.

  • I will start working with communities and businesses to bring affordable housing to these areas. In turn, this will allow qualified employees to work and live near their jobs.
  • My first action will be to start the process of giving all our educators an increase in their salaries in line with our nation's average. Additionally, guaranteeing future increases to bring them back in line with where they should be. This simple step will help keep quality and qualified educators in our State.
  • I will help introduce legislation that will not only help mother earth but help you as well.
I am running to provide a Democratic choice for people of District 41 as well as a working class persons point of view and perspective.

I am also looking to bring back a more bi-partisan view and not just a party line only way of government and thinking. This means I will be open to meeting with fellow members and discussing in an open and meaningful way any and all concerns. It is very important to me that we bring back a government "for the people" and not for the corporations.
I feel that there are many Republicans who are unhappy with the current direction their party has taken on many issues. I believe those people are in the district I represent , and they want to make different choices in order to put our state interests above their party interests. I look forward to being their voice in the Indiana State House of Representatives.

I made this choice in 2016 after the last election. I came to the conclusion that "we the people" were no longer being represented as was the principle of our founders. I am not a career politician. I am just a working class person who is looking to make a difference for his friends and neighbors in all of District 41. When you think of me think of me as an answer to a problem and not as a political party . I believe you should choose based on whats best for you and your family and not what you are told is best by a party. We look forward to you joining our movement to retake our district and our state from those that work for outsiders rather
I have had many over the years for many reasons. My father Frank Woods who taught me that hard work and dedication can bring great rewards. Commander Neil Armstrong for showing what mankind is capable of . President Abraham Lincoln for all he did for our country under the worst possible conditions. John Lennon for simply saying give peace a chance and giving us the song Imagine. Last but not least, Barack Obama for giving us HOPE that we can do better together if we just try.
I believe that elected officials need to be honest with themselves and there constituents. I also believe that the need for science fact in many aspects of the job is imperative. To many decisions are being made form rumor or personal bias versus what is true and proven. Last I also feel that we need to be empathetic to all when it comes to helping make laws that will effect so many
I feel my honest and straight forward way of doing things as well as my ability to empathize with people can go a long way to making a difference. Additionally as a working person I feel I have a better feel of what most people are experiencing in these turbulent days.
To represent to the best of there ability what will help the people they serve. Additionally to help make the State a better place for all.
My legacy could be simple, to leave the planet better than I found it or at the very least in my part of it.
The day we landed on the moon , July 20th 1969. I was seven years old . This event gave me my love for all things space related and my continued interest in it to this day as we once again look to send humans back to the moon.
My very first job was as a paper boy for what was the Indianapolis Evening News . I had that job for a year as a young man of 13 . My route was very unique . It was inside St. Vincent Hospital on the north side of Indianapolis.
I love reading and have since I was a child. I have always loved Stephen King and just finished reading the unedited and uncut version of The Stand . This book always makes me feel all the emotions you could have with any experience but most of all it reminds me that as humans we have the ability to be selfless and caring when its most important even when it may mean our own end.
This question is so unfair. AS well as being an avid reader I also love movies. So if I had to choose it would be a tie between Indiana Jones and Tony Stark.
My Sharona by the Knack . Had to pass it on to get rid of it !
I am happy to say I have had nothing in my life I would call a struggle . I have been surrounded by good people and a loving family . I know many can not say this which is one of the reasons I want to help make a difference.
At this stage the differences are not evident due to the one party super majority in our state. There is no true representation without equal division and this can not happen when the district lines are drawn by one party.
I think our founders envisioned that most state legislators would be "working people" who better represented there constituents back home. Based on our current situation I firmly believe that "professional " politicians have harmed are system more than helped and we need open minded people with new ides .
Our greatest challenges starts with our education system and the way our teachers have been treated. We need better pay and better retention as our state is at the bottom of both in the country. Second we need to move toward more green energy faster and away for coal and other harmful and expensive types of fuel. Partner this with more recycling and reuse programs and we could jump quickly into a cleaner state. Last we need to move to expand the use and growth of hemp in place of wood pulp as well as the legalization of marijuana to allow for another tax revenue as well as eliminate a lot of unnecessary criminal prosecution.
The legislature is voice of the people and us such should be heard by the governor . In a perfect world these two should work together at all times. The governor is of course the final say in new legislation and can and should prevent bills from passing . My belief is this should never happen if both sides work together in advance.
It is absolutely imperative to build working relationships with other legislators. The need for bipartisanship now more than ever is the only way I see us moving forward. To represent the people and not special interest first and doing it what is right for the people of Indiana.
I feel a non-partisan outside source should be used if at all possible and lines should be based on census and population not on party.
The committees I would be most interested in would be Education Committee, Environmental Affairs Committee,Local Government and Utilities and Energy
Mayor William ( Bill) Hudson always impressed me as a man wit vision and able to work with anybody . I also think that Dick Lugar was a great man and a great legislator for Indiana
