Carolyn Fulmer
Carolyn K. Fulmer was a judge on the Florida Second District Court of Appeal. She began her term on January 4, 1994, after being appointed by Governor Chiles.[1] Judge Fulmer retired effective December 31, 2009.[2]
Education
Carolyn Fulmer was born on August 24, 1947 in Jacksonville, Florida. She graduated from the University of South Florida in 1969. She received her master's degree in Higher Education from Florida State University in 1970. She received her law degree from Florida State in 1975.[1]
Career
Carolyn Fulmer began her legal career as an assistant county attorney for the Polk County Board of County Commissioners. She was appointed to the County Court of Polk County in 1981. In 1983, she was appointed to the circuit court of the Tenth Judicial Circuit. She served in every division of that court before her appointment to the Court of Appeals in 1994.[1] Fulmer was the first woman to serve the Second District Appellate Court, and the first woman to serve the Tenth Circuit.[2]
