Gary M. Farmer was a judge on the Florida Fourth District Court of Appeal. He was appointed to this position in 1991 and was retained by voters in 1992,[1] 1998[2] and 2004.[3] He served as Chief Justice from July 1, 2003 to June 30, 2005.[4] In August, he turned 70, which is the age of mandatory retirement for judges in Florida. He served the court from 1991 to 2011.[5]
Education
Gary Farmer received an associate degree from Broward Community College in 1968, a bachelor's degree from Florida Atlantic University in 1970, and his law degree from the University of Toledo College of Law in 1973. He later earned a master's degree from the University of Virginia School of Law in 2001.[4]
Career
Gary Farmer began his legal career in 1973 as a law clerk to a U.S. District Judge. In 1975, he became a partner in the law firm Abrams, Anton, Robbins, Resnick & Schneider P.A. He moved to the firm Goldberg, Young & Borkson, P.A. in 1982. From 1984 to 1991, he worked for Gary M. Farmer, P.A. After this, he was appointed to the Court of Appeal.[4]
