Voters in the Midland Independent School District, which is located in Midland County in western Texas approved a $4.2 million bond proposal in 1974. The district placed the measure on the ballot to seek funding for air conditioning in district schools. The bond passed with 60.56 percent of voters approving the measure. This was the district's 19th bond election.[1]
