Voters in the Midland Independent School District, which is located in Midland County in western Texas approved $67.1 million and rejected $8.8 million in bonds in 2003. The district placed two propositions on the ballot.[1]
Proposition 1, which sought $67.1 million for secondary campuses, was approved by 64.56 percent of voters. Proposition 2, which sought $8.8 million for South Side Elementary, was defeated, with 52.63 percent of voters against the measure. These measures were the district's 34th and 35th bond elections. Proposition 2 was the seventh bond measure to be defeated in the district's history.[1]
