Voters in the Midland Independent School District, which is located in Midland County in western Texas approved two bond proposals for a total of $4.45 million in 1973. One provided $2.55 million for air conditioning maintenance in the districts schools. The other provided $1.9 million for a multipurpose facility. The former bond item received 80.92 percent voter approval while the latter received 77.03 percent. These were the district's 17th and 18th bond elections.[1]
