Rick Saffery was a 2014 Republican candidate for District 45 of the Maryland House of Delegates. He ran unsuccessfully for the same seat in 2010.

2014
Elections for the Maryland House of Delegates took place in 2014. A primary election took place on June 24, 2014. The general election was held on November 4, 2014. The filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 25, 2014. Cory V. McCray and incumbents Talmadge Branch and Cheryl D. Glenn defeated Marques Dent, Kevin W. Parson, Harry Spikes, Robert Stokes, Sr. and Aaron Keith Wilkes in the Democratic primary, while Rick Saffery and Larry O. Wardlow, Jr. were unopposed in the Republican primary. McCray, Branch and Glenn defeated Saffery, Wardlow and Ronald Owens-Bey (L) for three seats in the general election.[1][2][3]
2010
Saffery and Larry Wardlow (R) both advanced past the Republican primary on September 14, 2010. In the general election, they faced Democrats Talmadge Branch (incumbent), Cheryl Glenn (incumbent]] and Hattie Harrison (incumbent). Ronald Owens-Bey ran as a Libertarian.
Saffery lost in the general election on November 2, 2010, coming in fourth. Three seats were available in the district.[4]
