Thomas Appleton
Thomas R. Appleton was a justice on the Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court. He was elected to this court on February 2, 2010 to replace Robert W. Cook.[1] He retired from the court in 2017.[2] His last term would have ended on December 6, 2020.[3][4][5]
Education
Judge Appleton graduated from Augustana College in 1971 with a B.A. degree. He went on to receive his Masters degree in 1972 from the University of Illinois and his J.D. degree in 1976 from the IIT/Chicago-Kent College of Law.[6]
Career
Judge Appleton began his career in 1976 as a law clerk on the Fourth District Appellate Court. In 1978, he became the Research Director for this court and a year later, he was appointed Clerk of the Court. He entered the private practice of law in 1981. In 1992, he was elected Circuit Judge for the Seventh Judicial Circuit. He served in this position until his assignment to the Appellate Court in 2001.[6]
2010 election
Rochford was retained with 100% of the vote in the general election.[7][8]
