The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was February 7, 2014. Sean Shanley was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Jeffrey A. Thompson was unopposed in the Republican primary. Thompson defeated Shanley in the general election.[1][2]
