Candidate Connection

Garen T. Bragg participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 9, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Garen T. Bragg's responses follow below.[3]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Fiscal Conservative

2) Protect the 2nd Amendment
3) Pro-Life[4][5]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

In a country where 58% of millennials want to live in a socialist, communist or fascist country, we need fresh conservative leaders to bring traditional values to the next generation. We need to find ways to reduce the tax burden, not increase it. We need to defend the constitution, not select which rights are "politically correct." We need to keep Indiana on a path of balanced budgets in accordance with fiscally conservative principles to make sure we stay economically competitive.Cite error: Invalid <ref> tag; invalid names, e.g. too many[5]

Ballotpedia also asked the candidate a series of optional questions. Garen T. Bragg answered the following:

Who do you look up to? Whose example would you like to follow, and why?

George Washington was a man who boldly led in a time of uncertainty and put the needs of his country before his own ambition. We need more leaders who consider the good of the country and its people.[5]
Is there a book, essay, film, or something else you would recommend to someone who wants to understand your political philosophy?
The Road to Serfdom by Friedrich von Hayek[5]
What do you believe are the core responsibilities for someone elected to this office?
To represent the people of the district. This implies an ability to listen to the voice of the people, and not lobbyists.[5]
What do you perceive to be your state's greatest challenges over the next decade?
Maintaining our commitment to fiscally conservative principles of governing while expanding the Indiana economy. Workforce, development, infrastructure, and population growth all must be handled responsibly without placing a burden on the taxpayer.[5]
