The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Bruce A. Marriott was unopposed in the Democratic primary, while incumbent Guy Comtois was unopposed in the Republican primary. Marriott and Comtois faced off in the general election.[5] Incumbent Comtois defeated Marriott in the general election, and was re-elected for another term.[6]
