Candidate Connection

Jessica Renslow participated in Ballotpedia's candidate survey on April 9, 2018. The survey questions appear in bold, and Jessica Renslow's responses follow below.[1]

What would be your top three priorities, if elected?

1) Meaningful Education

2) Inclusive Transportation and Infrastructure
3) Bringing 21st Century Jobs to NWI[2][3]

What areas of public policy are you personally passionate about? Why?

I believe we must be a community investing in meaningful education, inclusive transportation/infrastructure, and opportunities that bring 21st century jobs to Northwest Indiana. I advocate for transparency at all levels of government, equal pay and health equity. I believe Northwest Indiana should be a place where anyone willing to work hard gets a fighting chance to pursue happiness. It is up to our communities to collectively advocate for the best options for all of our residents. We need to examine what is working and take a hard look at what is not. Training our young leaders to be ready for 21st century jobs will give us a competitive advantage in our state, national and world markets.
