John W. Turner (Illinois 4th District Appellate Court)

John W. Turner is a former justice on the Illinois Fourth District Appellate Court. He was appointed to this position in June of 2001 and was elected to a full term the following year.[1] He was retained in 2012.[2][3]
Education
Judge Turner graduated from the University of Illinois in 1978 with a B.A. degree and from the DePaul University College of Law in 1981 with a J.D. degree.[1]
Career
Judge Turner worked as a Logan County Public Defender from 1984 to 1987. During this time, he also worked as a private practice lawyer. He was elected a Logan County State's Attorney in 1988 and served in this position until 1994, when he was elected to the Illinois House of Representatives. He served as a state representative and a private practice lawyer until his appointment to the Appellate Court in 2001.[1]

Turner was retained on Nov. 6, 2012 with 82.1% of the vote.[3][4]
