The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 13, 2014. Incumbent Efstathia Booras, incumbent Kenneth Gidge and Lee Guerette were unopposed in the Democratic primary, while Michael Reed, Troy Saunders and Ron Simoneau were unopposed in the Republican primary. Booras, Gidge, Guerette, Reed, Saunders and Simoneau faced off in the general election.[1] Incumbent Booras, incumbent Gidge, and Guerette defeated Reed, Saunders, and Simoneau in the general election.[2]
