"Tom" Saunders was unopposed in the Republican primary and defeated Brad Owens (L), who filed to run on July 2, 2014, in the general election.[5][6][7]

2012
Saunders won re-election in the 2012 election for Indiana House of Representatives District 54. Saunders ran unopposed in the May 8 Republican primary and defeated Jeremiah Morrell (L) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[8][9]
2010
Saunders defeated Democratic candidate Bruce Gaylor and Libertarian candidate Rex Bell with 10,492 votes. Gaylor received 4,166 votes and Bell received 3,846 votes.[10] The general election took place on November 2, 2010.
In the May 4th primary, Saunders ran unopposed and received 7,364 votes.[11]

Saunders has served as a member of the Association of Indiana Counties and Heritage in Progress. Saunders previously served as president of the County Assessor Association and Lewisville Lions Club.[14]
