Elaine Lauterborn (Democratic Party) ran for election to the New Hampshire House of Representatives to represent Strafford 9. She lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.
Lauterborn is a former Democratic member of the New Hampshire House of Representatives. She represented the Strafford 1 District and Ward 2 (Council Member) from 2008 to 2010. Lauterborn's other political experiences presently include being deputy mayor and city council for the City of Rochester; as well as candidate for Strafford 1 in 2004 and Strafford 67 in 2002.

She faced incumbent Sandra Keans (D), incumbent Anne Grassie (D), incumbent William Brennan (D), incumbent Pamela Hubbard (D), incumbent Rose Marie Rogers (D), incumbent Warren Groen (R), incumbent Julie Brown (R), Shawn Mickelonis (D), Pete Dow (D), Sandra Teti (D), Laura Jones (R), Cliff Newton (R), Kyle Jones (R), Fred Leonard (R), Bernhard McKay (R), Susan DeLemus (R), and Evelyn Logan (R) in the November 2 general election.

On November 4, 2008, Lauterborn finished fourth for the nine-seat Strafford District 1 in New Hampshire receiving 5,851 votes, behind Democrats Sandra Keans(6,537), Anne Grassie(6,525), Pamela Hubbard(5,887), and ahead of Democrats William Brennan(5,784), Rose Marie Rogers(5,474), and Republicans Julie Brown(5,739), James Twombly(5,623), Warren Groen(5,531) and Others(49).[1]
