Jeanene was born and raised in Michigan where she graduated from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Education. For decades, she taught middle school and high school courses as a public school educator where she and local justice officials developed a mock trial program with her students as attorneys, witnesses, and jurors, teaching them valuable civics lessons about the principles of our judicial system. She is also a regional award winning author who has written two independently published novels. In 2014, Jeanene was elected Precinct Delegate in her community's Republican primary, going on to be elected to represent her congressional district as a State Committee Representative where she worked on the Issues Committee under the leadership of now Chairman of the RNC, Ronna McDaniel. Jeanene has also given her time helping others as a Red Cross volunteer, hospital visitors' assistant, homebound student instructor, catechism teacher, elementary classroom aide, and now as a candidate hoping to be elected to represent the concerns of the people of Newfields and Newmarket at New Hampshire's General Court.
  • It just seems like common sense that these inflationary times call for us to elect leaders who will prioritize affordability by pursuing policies that will lower energy cost, and who will promise to repel any attempts to raise the tax burden on their constiuents who are already taxed enough.
  • Our personal freedoms continue to fall under attack and must be defended by pushing back against governmental infringements in order to protect our inalienable rights set forth in the Constitution.
  • Our state lawmakers must insure that our young people have access to an effective K-12 education that teaches them to be self-sufficient contributors to their community, and they must also support innovative measures for reducing tuition costs so young people can afford practical, post-secondary training that is sure to lead to an actual job.
The people of New Hampshire embrace their motto "Live Free or Die" as it represents their desire for unrestricted opportunity to chart their own destiny. In keeping with this desire, I am most passionate about the policies that protect people's freedom and release them from any unnecessary impediment that may hinder their pursuit of prosperity. As a retired public school teacher, I am also tremendously passionate about education policies that provide children a learning environment free of indoctrination agendas where compassionate, accomplished educators convey essential subject matter while teaching students to be critical thinkers and considerate contributors to society. Additionally, I'm particularly passionate about fiscal policies that oblige the government to govern within its means, keeping our representatives to a reasonable budget without their further raising taxes in any desire to overspend. The hard-working people of the "Live Free or Die" state do not want a government that takes more of their money and decides where and on what to spend it. Rather, they want to keep what their hard work has earned and allocate it themselves in the way they deem fit.
Jimmy Stewart's performance in "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" remains a timeless inspiration for me and I believe it should be for those elected to serve. While I'm no Mr. Smith with his eagle scout badge and his filibuster worthy stamina, I do believe in the values he represented by being honest, having integrity, and disregarding potential personal gain in favor of pursuing the best interests of one's constituents when bestowed with the honor of representing one's community as their legislative representative.
Despite being only 6 at the time, I do remember that terrible moment when I learned that Martin Luther King had been assassinated. I vividly recall that I happened to be watching the television when a news flash interrupted with the announcement, sending me yelling to my father, "Dad, a king has died!" While my recollections are vague of my father's attempts to explain that this man wasn't a king but was very important like one, what I do remember is the sorrowful attention given at that moment and in the days that followed as my family gathered to watch the coverage of the passing of a man I didn't know and yet who had such a profoundly honorable impact on the world in which I would grow up and on generations to follow.
The novel "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee will always remain my favorite novel due to its wealth of compassionate messages conveyed through the innocent eyes of a child. Its themes regarding the wrongs of racial and economic prejudice and misguiding character are so well conveyed through its many touching lessons of empathy for our fellow man that I cannot recommend this book highly enough. As a teacher, I never tired of sharing this poignant story with my many students that I witnessed being profoundly impacted by its significant message.
