Employee Classification Committee, New Hampshire State Legislature
The Employee Classification Committee is a standing joint committee of the New Hampshire General Court.
Per state statute, the Speaker of the House appoints three members, two from the House Executive Departments and Administration Committee and one from the House Finance Committee. The President of the Senate appoints three members, at least one of whom must be a member of the Senate Finance Committee. Appoints must be made no later than December 30 following a general election. The committee elects its chair, which must rotate annually between House and Senate members.[1]

Function
The Employee Classification Committee's functions are established in state statute, which describes those functions as follows:

III. Relative to unclassified employees:
IV. Relative to classified employees, the committee shall establish procedures to hear appeals submitted by any commissioner or department head regarding reclassification decisions made by the director of personnel pursuant to RSA 21-I:54, III, and the committee's decision in such matters shall be final.[1][2] |
