Robert Rose (New York)
Robert S. Rose was a justice on the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, Third Department. He began serving in this position on March 2, 2000.[1] Rose retired in December 2017.[2]
Education
Rose graduated from St. Lawrence University and Albany Law School. After finishing law school in 1968, he served in the Army and was stationed in West Germany (1970) and South Vietnam (1971-1972).[1][3]
Career
Rose began his legal career in 1974 as a law clerk. After this, he worked as an assistant district attorney in Broome County. He then worked as a private practice lawyer until his election to the New York Supreme Court 6th Judicial District, where he took office in January of 1988. In 1998, he was appointed administrative judge of the district.[1][3]
