Orville A. "Jack" Armstrong was an associate justice on the Second District, Division Five of the California Courts of Appeal. He was appointed to the court by former Republican Governor Pete Wilson and took the oath of office on January 12, 1993. He was retained on November 2, 2010. Armstrong retired from the bench in July 2013.[1]

Education

Armstrong received his undergraduate degree from the University of Texas in 1953. He received his J.D. from the University of Southern California in 1956. He was also enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps for a few years starting in 1946.[2][3]

Career

Armstrong worked as a lawyer doing private civil practice in Los Angeles from 1957 to 1991. One of the firms he worked for during this time was Baker & McKenzie. He was appointed to the Los Angeles Superior Court by former Republican Governor George Deukmejian, where he served from 1991 to 1992. He was then appointed to the court of appeals.[2][3]

Elections

2010

Armstrong was retained to the court of appeals in 2010 with 71 percent of the vote.[4]
