George Edwards (Sixth Circuit)
George Clinton Edwards, Jr. (1914-1995) was a federal judge for the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit and a justice on the Michigan Supreme Court.
Federal judicial career
Sixth Circuit
Edwards was nominated to the Sixth Circuit by President John F. Kennedy on September 9, 1963, to a seat vacated by Thomas McAllister; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 16, 1963, and received his commission on December 19th. He served as chief judge from 1979-1983. He assumed senior status on January 15, 1985, and served in that capacity until his death on April 8, 1995.[1]
