Albert Engel
Albert Joseph Engel was a judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit. He served on senior status until 2002 and passed away on April 5, 2013.[1][2]

Judicial nominations and appointments
Western District of Michigan
Engel was nominated to the Western District of Michigan by President Richard Nixon on December 15, 1970, to a seat vacated by W. Wallace Kent; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 17, 1970, and received commission on the next day. He served the Western District of Michigan until he was elevated to the Sixth Circuit on January 4, 1974.[1] Engel was succeeded in this position by Wendell Miles.
Sixth Circuit
Engel was nominated to the Sixth Circuit by President Richard Nixon on December 5, 1973, to a seat vacated by W. Wallace Kent; he was confirmed by the Senate on December 13, 1973, and received commission on December 19, 1973. From 1988-1989, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on October 1, 1989 and served until 2002.[1]
