This page is about a former federal court. For a list of active courts, see: United States federal courts.

The United States Circuit Court for the District of North Carolina was created on June 4, 1790, to have appellate jurisdiction over the newly formed District Court for the District of North Carolina. It was dissolved as part of the Judiciary Act of 1801, but was reinstated with the repeal of that act in 1802. It was permanently dissolved on June 4, 1872, with the division of North Carolina into Eastern and Western judicial districts.[1]
