John Virgil Singleton, Jr. (1918-present) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
Singleton was nominated to the Southern District of Texas by President Lyndon Johnson on June 28, 1966, to a new seat created by 80 Stat. 75; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 22, 1966, and received commission that same day. From 1979-1988, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on April 1, 1988. He served the Southern District of Texas until his retirement on June 1, 1992.[1]

Singleton was nominated to the Southern District of Texas by President Lyndon Johnson on June 28, 1966, to a new seat created by 80 Stat. 75; he was confirmed by the Senate on July 22, 1966, and received commission that same day. From 1979-1988, he served as the chief judge. He assumed senior status on April 1, 1988. He served the Southern District of Texas until his retirement on June 1, 1992.[1]
