Charles Edward Clark (1889-1963) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit. He joined the court in 1939 after an appointment from Franklin Delano Roosevelt. At the time of appointment, Clark was a Professor of Law and Dean at Yale Law. From 1954 to 1959, he was the chief judge. He served on this court until his death on December 13, 1963.[1]

Judicial nominations and appointments

Second Circuit

He was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 5, 1939 to a seat created by 52 Stat. 584. He was confirmed by the Senate on March 7th, and received commission on March 9th. From 1954 to 1959, he was the chief judge. He served on this court until his death on December 13, 1963.[1] He was succeeded to the post by Robert Palmer Anderson.
