Bolitha Laws
Bolitha Laws (1891-1958) was a federal judge on the United States District Court for the District of Columbia.
He was nominated by President Franklin D. Roosevelt on June 10, 1938 to a seat created by 52 Stat. 584. He was confirmed by the Senate on June 16th, and received commission on June 24th. He served in this position until February 23, 1945, when he became the Chief Justice.
He was nominated for the position of Chief Justice by Franklin D. Roosevelt on January 19, 1945 to replace Edward Eicher. The Senate confirmed him on February 22nd, and he received commission on February 23rd. He held this position until September 1, 1948, when he was reassigned to his previous position as District judge. From 1948 to 1958, he was the chief judge. His service ended with his death on November 14, 1958.[1]
