Rufus Edward Foster
Rufus Edward Foster (1871-1942) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit and the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana.

Judicial career
Fifth Circuit
Foster was nominated to the Fifth Circuit by President Calvin Coolidge on January 3, 1925 to fill a seat vacated by Alexander Campbell King. He was confirmed by the Senate on January 13, 1925, and received commission that same day. He served until his death on August 23, 1942.[1]
Eastern District of Louisiana
Foster was nominated to the Eastern District of Louisiana by President Theodore Roosevelt on January 22, 1909 to fill a seat vacated by Eugene Davis Saunders. He was confirmed by the Senate on February 2, 1909, and received commission that same day. He served on this court until January 13, 1925.[1] Foster was succeeded in this position by Charlton Reid Beattie.
